KEY STAGE 3

Years 7 - 9 (Secondary Education)

Our Key Stage 3 support is designed to help students build on the foundations of primary education and confidently adapt to the increased demands of secondary school. These years are crucial for developing deeper subject knowledge, independent learning habits, and the confidence needed to succeed in Key Stage 4. We provide personalised tuition that reinforces core concepts in English, Maths, and Science, while also helping students adjust to more complex topics and structured assessments. Our tutors focus on closing any learning gaps, strengthening critical thinking, and encouraging effective study techniques. For students with SEND, ADHD, EBSA, dyslexia, anxiety, or those who simply learn at a different pace, our flexible, nurturing support bridges the gap — both academically and emotionally — helping them to build confidence and stay on track. Through supportive, engaging sessions, we help learners gain confidence in their abilities, stay motivated, and prepare for the academic and personal expectations of GCSE study.

Key Stage 3

English

At Key Stage 3, our English tuition focuses on strengthening literacy skills and preparing students for more complex reading and writing tasks.

We support students with:

  • Reading comprehension: Understanding increasingly challenging texts, analysing meaning, and interpreting language techniques

  • Grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure: Improving accuracy and clarity in writing

  • Vocabulary development: Expanding language use to enhance both written and spoken communication

  • Creative and functional writing: Writing for a variety of purposes—narrative, persuasive, informative, and descriptive

  • Literary analysis: Introducing key skills for analysing fiction, non-fiction, and poetry

  • Speaking and listening: Encouraging structured discussion, presentation, and active listening skills

Our tutors break down complex tasks into manageable steps, using visual tools, scaffolded writing support, and personalised strategies to support learners with literacy difficulties or reduced confidence in English.
