WHAT WE OFFER

GUIDIING, SUPPORTING AND INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION

Every student we interact with learns at their own pace and in their own way.

Our first steps are always to listen, to find out what the student feels they need by asking them to self reflect on where they have been previously. By doing this, we begin to identify how they approach learning. By giving them the ability to not only talk about how they want to learn, but to also have input on what they are learning, we start to build their engagement and confidence levels. By putting these early foundations in place, building trust and rapport between learner and tutor it helps to build trust, confidence and helps them developing a sense of safety and identity.

An initial assessment to identify current capabilities and identify the student's knowledge.

Match students to a tutor, identify the best learning approach for the student

Begin to fill gaps in a student's knowledge

When someone initially comes to us, our first step is finding out what they already know. Many of the young people that Fusion Learn helps are often missing gaps in their educational knowledge, and the best way to begin helping them is to identify these gaps. We do this by asking them to take an initial assessment with us. With this, we can then begin to tailor their learning based on what they have learnt so far.

The next step is to look at each student as an individual and then find the best possible tutor to match how they function. By pairing them with a tutor that they click with, the chances of them engaging in tuition rises considerably.

Finally, we begin to fill any identified gaps in the student's knowledge, slowly bringing them back in line with where they should be academically if they were in a traditional mainstream environment. We embed not only the academic skills, but the social ones needed to thrive in an educational setting.

Our core curriculum covers:

  • English and Maths KS2, KS3, KS4

  • Functional skills English and Maths

  • GCSE English and Maths

  • Therapeutic services

  • Mentoring

  • Reintegration

  • Post 16 support

  • Employability Skills and assistance on to further employment or education

We know that no two students are the same. That’s why we take a flexible, student-centred approach to tuition—adapting not only what we teach, but how we teach it. Our experienced tutors take the time to understand each young person’s interests, strengths, challenges, and goals. From this foundation, we tailor our teaching styles, lesson content, and pace of learning to create a meaningful and engaging experience—one that supports academic progress and builds confidence.

Interest Based

Engagement starts with connection. Whether a student is passionate about sports, music, gaming, art, or something entirely unique, we use those interests to design lessons that feel relevant and motivating.

For example:

  • A love of football might be used to teach statistics, geography, or persuasive writing.

  • A student interested in video games might explore coding, storytelling, or digital design.

  • Creative learners may explore core subjects through art, drama, or real-world projects.

By bringing each young person’s passions into the classroom, we help them see learning as something valuable, exciting—and most importantly, something they can succeed at.

Our tutors are trained to recognise and respond to a wide range of learning styles, emotional needs, and behaviours. Whether a student thrives in a structured environment or needs a more relaxed, conversation-based approach, we adapt accordingly.

Lessons can be:

  • Highly interactive, with visual aids and hands-on activities

  • Quiet and focused, with clear routines and step-by-step support

  • Movement-based for learners who need physical space

  • Integrated with digital tools, for tech-savvy students

We understand that many of the young people we support may have had negative experiences with education in the past. That’s why our tutors focus on building trust first—creating a safe, non-judgemental space where students feel heard, valued, and respected.

Beyond Traditional Learning

Our goal is to re-engage young people not only with learning, but with their future. Alongside core academic support, we help students develop key life skills such as:

  • Independent thinking

  • Emotional regulation

  • Communication and teamwork

  • Self-motivation and goal-setting

We work closely with families, schools, local authorities, and care providers to ensure each learner receives a joined-up and consistent support package. Whether working one-to-one or in a small group, online or in person, our focus is always on empowering the individual.
