Fusion Learn Ltd is a national provider of alternative education, offering specialist academic and therapeutic support to students aged 8–25. We work closely with local authorities and schools to deliver personalised education for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other complex learning profiles.
 

The Role

We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate Tutors to work on a one-to-one basis with students referred to us for tailored academic support. Your role will be to help learners re-engage with education and build the confidence and skills necessary to progress—whether that means achieving qualifications or transitioning back into mainstream education.
 

You’ll be delivering sessions in Maths, English, or Science, with full support from our expert network including:​

• Designated Safeguarding Leads

• Curriculum Leads for Maths and English

• Behaviour Specialists

• Head of Education
   

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1  tuition in Maths, English, or Science.

• Adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning styles and needs.

• Support students with a variety of educational and emotional needs, including:

  • SEND

  • SEMH

  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
     

• Build strong, positive relationships to support student progress and wellbeing.

• Identify and overcome learning barriers, using a nurturing and creative approach.

• Provide feedback and complete reports on student engagement and progress.

• Work flexibly across school settings, community venues, or students’ homes.
   

Position Details

• Location: Clacton

• Hours: Flexible – typically 10–35 hours per week
  (Sessions are generally 2/3 hours per day, up to 5 days per week.

• Start Date: ASAP
   

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

• Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.

• Excellent behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to tailor your approach to each student’s unique circumstances.

• A positive, patient, and adaptable attitude.

• Confidence working independently and flexibly across varied settings.

• A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
